xPages Contact Management BSS were tasked by a key customer to replace a legacy ACT database with a Web 2.0 based application that could serve user's in a better manner. As a current IBM Lotus customer we agreed that xPages technology were the ideal enabling technology to deliver a write once application to multiple clients. Our customer wanted to extend the use of this application to workers on the road and as such wanted to target iPhone and Lotus Notes user's for off-line replication where internet technology was not easily available. BSS decided it would be best to adopt the native Lotus Notes Address book for better integration with the Notes email system which now supports iPhone devices through IBM Lotus Traveller. Openntf template with xPagesBSS are active contributors and user's of Openntf . By utalising xPages mobile controlsfrom openntf BSS were able to deliver a fully functional modern iPhone interface in a single day. The mobile control interface had pre-built transitions, effects and features that iphone user's expect and could be applied without additional development time or effort. BSS helped apply this with our knowledge of xPages, mobile development and contact management development experience.
