Since version 8 Lotus Notes the Notes client has become extendable as it now runs on the eclipse platform

Now Sametime, Symphony and Lotus Notes are all built on this platform meaning that these clients can be better tailored to work with your applications and business processes.

At BSS we use a Time Recording eclipse plugin for loggin project time for billing and analysis purposes

The main benefits of this approach are

  1. Individual time entries can be logged as they happen meaning more accurate time reports
  2. No need to change applications or open seperate windows. This makes time recording easier to do.

  4. Resulting data is placed in a local replica and replicated to the server as required. This means the time recording facility is always available.
